Subject:New True Crime vs. Crime-in-the-Media Community
Posted by:clear_sarcasm.
Time:8:33 am.
killer_culture is a community for those interested in true crime as well as related books, movies, television shows, etc. Anything related to true crime (even fictional) is welcome here: debates, discussions concerning TV shows, movies, books (Dexter, Criminal Minds, Forensic Files, Law & Order, Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.), icons, questions, news articles, pictures, reviews, pretty much anything relevant is permitted!

We're looking for interested members, "fans" of various crime-based shows/movies/books/etc. to keep debates/discussions fresh and interesting and to get the ball rolling. We don't want to focus on just one show or just one subject or be an all icons/graphics community. We want it to be open to people from all fandoms and walks of life to discuss their likes/dislikes or ask questions (example: "how accurate would what Dexter did (by doing this) be?") or whatever your pleasure may be! If this turns into a "one-trick-pony", it's going to die fast, and we don't want that!

We're trying to stand out; since there are tons of true crime communities and tons of fandom communities. We're combining the two, in a sense!

If anyone has any questions, concerns or suggestions, contact me or the other mod, ar_poe.

Subject:The Naughty Night Stalker
Posted by:clear_sarcasm.
Time:9:53 am.
(Mods, if this is not allowed, I apologize!)

About two years ago I corresponded with Richard Ramírez pretty frequently. He was shy, polite but withdrawn at first but over the course of almost a year, he slowly opened up. We had some pretty interesting discussions. We exchanged photographs and he praised me with compliments and constantly asked for more.

Finally, he manned up and asked me, in very specific detail, to take certain "naughty" photos of myself for him. I could not read the letter/request with a straight face. I still can't! I thought it was completely inappropriate and hilarious. I had no idea how to reply other than with a "wtf, perv!" So, I haven't responded to that letter yet.

I may write him again, now that time has passed, hoping he's forgotten by now and we can "start over."

But anyway, after giving it some thought (and after several requests) I've decided to share the "inappropriate letter".

He also included two separate pieces of paper. One with a story which he thought was amusing (and apparently thought it would amuse me too). Another with a drawing for me.

They can be found HERE at killer_culture.

Subject:Henry Lee Lucas + Ottis Toole ART
Posted by:threne.
Time:3:35 pm.
A rare painting - done from memory - of the childhood home of one of America's most notorious Serial Killers, Henry Lee Lucas. The log cabin in Virginia was the place where Lucas allegedly killed his first victim - his Mother. The painting was given to artist Stephen Kasner, who used it as part of an exhibition of Serial Killer Art in 1993.

The painting is now for sale.

Henry Lee Lucas Painting / Click To Enlarge

Included in the sale is a frightening drawing of a "Demon Head" by Lucas' mentally retarded transvestite cannibal killing partner and sometimes lover; Ottis Toole - the man who killed Adam Walsh - the son of America's Most Wanted host John Walsh.

Also included in the sale: A handwritten letter from Lucas explaining the meaning behind the painting, which also serves to verify the paintings authenticity.

If this isn't allowed please by all means erase this, but if not please hear me out. I have had an interest in serial killers and true crime for several years now and as a result I am focusing my senior seminar paper on the American fascination with serial killers throughout the 20th century. If anyone here writes to serial killers or has in the past and feels comfortable with speaking with me about it I would love to hear from you and ask a few questions. Thanks and have a great day.

My interest in true crime dates back to my high school days. I have many interests. I read the books and watch the shows. A few years ago I took my interest a step further by writing to guys "inside"I've written several guys and so far its been a good experience.

I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I'm really interested in the Menendez case. I've written to Eric before and he sent me a Christmas card. I know he's been transfered from Folsom(sp). I've read Tammy's book she's written. I'd like to write him again and can't find his address. I'd also like to write to Lyle. If anyone could help, I'd appriciate it.

Also, does anyone else write????

Hey guys. Sorry to burst in on your community like this, but I was wondering if you would like to help me out with something.
I'm doing a major essay in my school work this year on Jack the Ripper. Specifically, the reasons why he has remained such an integral part of the history of murder and serial killers.
I've compiled a brief list of why I think he's become a legend. I'd really like it if you guys would rank my reasons in order of relevance and, if you can think of any, add your own:

What are your opinions on John Mark Karr?

Does he seem guilty to you? I'm not so sure.

To me, it seems like the little girl had it coming. If you wear make-up when you are six, you are just begging for negative attention.

Let me know if this isn't allowed as nothing mentioned on the rules. I started a new community called carnagecapture and I'm looking for members. It is community is for people interested in learning and understanding more about people who kill others and people who kill themselves. The main focus of this community is around the scene of the crime, or "crime scene", itself - Expect explicit photos and descriptions. Please do not join this community expecting sugar, spice and everything nice because you'll quickly find out it's not what little girls are made of.

Does anyone else watch Most Evil on the Discovery Channel on Thursday nights? It seems to be a new show. Throughout the hour, they discuss different serial killers and violent crimes, using the Michael Stone Depravity Scale. It's fairly interesting, as they talk about people that I've never even heard of before.

There's usually a theme, and last week was "Women Who Kill". The stories were so-so, but only one of them really caught my attention. I believe the crimes took place around the 1980's. The woman used torture to punish her children before she killed them. She disliked her daughter for being thin, so she would cook these enormous pots of macaroni and cheese and make her eat them in one sitting. She made the children weed the front yard with a teaspoon. She also shot one of her daughters in the chest. The girl survived, with the bullet lodged inside her body, but the mother forced her son to actually help perform surgery on the girl in the middle of the kitchen to remove said bullet.

It was pretty insane. I thought the story was interesting, and I tried to look her up to read more about her, but I can't find anything. I was nearly positive that the woman's name was Teresa Nole (Knoll, Knole, Noe?), but nothing comes up when I search those names.

I was just wondering if anybody caught this episode and remembered the name, or knew the name from hearing about the story elsewhere?

Question: Who was that doctor who fell in love with his young female patient(I think in the 1930's)whom she died of TB and he reportedly dug up her corpse and preserved her. Because her body had become so decomposed he had fashioned a death mask to her face and aplied wax and varnish and preservatives to slow down decomposition. The community had became concerned about him being alienated or other and found out about his liasan, and he was then fined and the corpse was returned. When the doctor died they found him lying next to his beloved corpse in his room. I don't know how correct i am but has any one heard of this story ?
